Mikayla turns 2

On Nov.1 Mikayla turned 2 years old. We celebrated her birthday one week later with a small gathering of her little friends at the Freestone Park in Gilbert. They offer little rides for little kids under 48 inches tall. Parents can go on the Merry-Go-Round and on the Train. Mikayla loves to ride rides. Among her favorite was the mini Ferris wheel and the jet ski ride.

The park provides food, drinks, decorations and train whistles; we didn't need to bring anything except the birthday girl. The pretty dress was a gift from Bailey. She was a birthday princess!

The birthday cake was a Cupcake cake. Ariel is one of her favorite characters from the Little Mermaid. However, I think now she is really into Toy Story and LOVES Buzz Lightyear and Woody.Ronan turned 2 years old in August. Here they are riding in the 50 cent car together.Simone is 3 and a half years old. These two girls had fun riding on all the rides together.Alex in the pink on the left just turned 4 in July and Angelina on the right turned 4 in October. Alex was Mikayla's best buddy that day and they rode all the rides together. Quinn turned 2 years old in July. He is Simone's little brother. Mikayla and Quinn loved riding the Ferris wheel together. Riding the jet ski ride with Alex.Last year Mikayla did not know what to do with the candle, so this year we practiced a couple times before she really had to blow out her candle. She did great!Mikayla LOVES bubbles so we brought them to the party for all the kids to play with. Showing her daddy and mommy some love after a fun afternoon at the park and a great birthday celebration. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our 2 year old Mikayla! We love you so much!

Trick or Treat

It was not so easy getting Mikayla into a costume. I had a bunch of costumes from Britt (Jon's sister) and we tried them all...Snow White, Cheerleader, Princess... she fought me on each outfit. For our work party I was able to get her into a princess outfit, but only by bribing her with milk and putting her in the car seat - which is a good distraction. On Halloween night we even waited until Ronan put on his costume thinking she might show some interest then too, but it was the same story. Again with bribes (glow sticks and glow bracelets this time) we were able to force her into the Ariel Little Mermaid Costume. Once she figured out the way Trick or Treating works she was not thinking about her costume anymore. She quickly learned that you get candy and it goes right in the bag. Riding in the wagon was a lot of fun too. Surprisingly the scary decorations did not scare her. Maybe Jon will someday have someone to go watch scary movies with??!!

Picking out a pumpkin with Daddy.
I like this one!
I know it has been a LONG time since I have posted. SO much has happened in the past few months. We've had company from out of town, then we traveled to Germany. Jon got a new job AND we sold our house... we are are moving! Mikayla is turning 2 this week and we are busy packing, but I wanted to get a few Halloween pictures up. She is smart as a whip, understands 2 languages and is speaking in both as well. She is strong willed and has a mind of her own. I'm not sure if she'll cooperate with wearing a costume on Halloween, but I know she has daddy's sweet tooth and will surely figure out trick-or-treating = candy!

Today we went to a friends birthday and these are pictures from the birthday party at Mother Natures Farm in Gilbert.
Happy Halloween from the Dunmars - be safe!
